Olive oil sustainability isn't enough
We’re not here to preserve the status quo—we’re here to build a new model.
Extra virgin olive oil is a cornerstone of the Mediterranean diet and one of the most celebrated “superfoods” dating back to antiquity. It is also one of the most adulterated foods on our plates. Increasingly, it is being made in industrial ways which degrade soils, overlook communities, and lower its nutritional value. In a landscape like this, olive oil sustainability isn't enough.
A third of the world’s agricultural soil is degraded, yet we rely on it for 95% of our food.
Industry-first refill pouches, producing 15x less carbon than our bottles.
Globally, woman own under 13% of the world’s agricultural land. While across Europe, an average of just 29% of farms are managed by women.
Championing women in agriculture.
Women face cultural, technical, and financial barriers in agriculture: we want to tear these down and offer women equal opportunities in the olive oil space. By working with groves that are at least 50% female-led and telling the stories of our producers, we aim to redress the imbalance, to bring equity to land ownership and our food chain while discovering truly exceptional EVOO.
Building trust through transparency.
Provenance
Our transparent supply chain means you can trace every drop of oil back to the land and community that made it. We’re proud of the people we source from and you can read their stories on our producers page.
Fair & equitable
In the commodity model, profits are concentrated in the hands of big players, leaving little for the small producers on the ground. We pay at least 20% above the commodity rate, which goes upwards of 100-150% for certain qualities and agricultural practices. Although we bring them all together under one brand, and consider them all citizens of soil, we also make sure to highlight each distinct producer on the bottle or pouch and celebrate their unique oil.
How is EVOO different from other oils?
Outside the virgin olive oil category, most olive oils are refined, highly-processed, bleached, and deodorised, creating shelf-stable, lifeless oil at a lower cost. Comparing EVOO to these oils is like comparing freshly squeezed orange juice to Fanta. Even avocado and coconut oils aren't regulated the same way as extra virgin olive oil.

Investors
Over the years we have taken investment from angels and family funds, many of whom have become leaders in investing in impact driven businesses. We are proud to say our largest contributions have come from women or female-led funds—a rarity in the fundraising world. Additionally, we only accept investment from people who understand our mission and accept that we make business decisions in pursuit of people and planet, not just profit. That means sustainable growth with additional investment going towards our producers.
Team Welfare
From hybrid and flexible working hours to team harvest trips, we nurture a healthy work environment while encouraging a deep connection to our company mission. We’re an equal opportunity employer: we value diversity and the expansive thinking that it engenders.
