Traceability is paramount in the olive oil space. We have a completely transparent supply chain which means you can trace every drop of oil back to the land and community that made it.
Soil underpins, quite literally, everything. We work with producers who farm in harmony with nature—those practicing regenerative farming. For us, that means: farming organically with no synthetic chemical intervention, low or no tilling, supporting soil cover and biodiversity, and incorporating grazing animals or their manure as natural fertiliser and part of a healthy, circular ecosystem. In the commodity model, profits are concentrated in the hands of big players, leaving little for the small producers on the ground. We pay at least 20% above the commodity rate, which goes upwards of 100-150% to reward certain qualities and agricultural practices. Across the board, we believe that farmers should have equitable access to resources, recognition for their contributions, and the support needed to sustain their livelihoods, strengthen their communities, and care for nature.
Agriculture is a heavily male-dominated industry. In 2020 men represented almost 70% of the sector and women just above 30%. And yet, the world desperately need more farmers. By working with groves that have women at the helm and championing their stories, we hope to encourage more women to shape our food system. In turn, the rural economy also reaps the benefit while we all get to enjoy healthier, more sustainable ingredients from farmers who prioritise flavor, nutrition, and the environment.
